I’m currently living in France and i have completed a course (2006/7) of studying the Art of Photography via distance learning with the Open College of the Arts, based in the UK. I am now continuing to futher my photography knowledge and start a career; with a few personal photographic projects on the go!
I bought my first camera a number of years ago, now i have two more cameras, a Pentax SLR and a digital Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 with Leica lens.
Having had a love of Art for many years, both my grandmother and mother are painters, i have enjoyed looking more into the artistic side of photography. For me the peace and simple but stunning beauty of nature is what inspires me, along with my great love of equines and animals overall. I also take great interest in still life photography, looking closely at the use of light.
“Photography, it’s the extension of the eye” Henri Cartier-Bresson.
I have had my first photography book published this year (2008) through the publishers based in England called Halsgrove. The Spirit of The Fell Pony is a hardback, containing 70 full colour images of the Fell Pony breed in their native region of Cumbria.
