I use to remember it as Torrumbarry Dam, when did they change the name? (Never had lights either, looks very good Sue)
HI Johnno…the old weir ran from 1923- 1992…then the works on the new weir started and was completed in 1996…has been this way since l have been going there although this is how it looked previous without any gates fully open and water level very low

This was the first time that l had seen it like this…it was quite eerie as there is generally a huge noise of the water being pushed through but it was complete silence as the gates were fully open and water level highest l have seen also. Apparently it should peak on friday…it has flooded beyond the levy of our cabin which hasnt had water in it for over 10 years.

Thanks Sue, think last time I was there was ’75 or ’76
I remember Moama when it was about 30 houses, way before Pokies was even thought of. Ah, the good old days of fishing for redfin on the Murray (when it would flood every couple of years……. hasn’t done that in ages)
very nice Sue
