The Appalachians are full of the Scotish and Scot-Irish heritage. Irishman settled here too but the Scot-Irish, we refer to, were Scots who went to Northen Ireland for better times and then migrated here. My forefathers came here in 1658. They setteled and distinguished themselves in the Rappahannock River area of Virginia. After the Revolutionary War my 4X Great Grandfather came and settled in the, what is now East Tennessee. This title is to honor his heritage and all those that braved this brave new world to make it into what we now call America….. Image taken in the Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. After a rain or as the dew is still on the leaves is an idea time to shot fall foliage as it makes the colors snap in a wonderful way.
