Many trials I overcame
There I remained just the same
Through drought, wind, rain, and hail
I hung there and did not fail
The suns face, less I did see
As I hung there on the tree
My beauty then I did show
But struggled not to let go
A strong north wind came that day
Force so great I could not stay
On a rock I hang on still
Though the air is starting to chill
I hang on for you to see
This is what matters to me
If to you, joy I did bring
It will cause my heart to sing
