Artist's Description

Not a lot of photogenic opportunities today in the Cove. Would need a lot better water resistant camera. The wind is howling but not as bad as when they had to shut the park down a few years ago. Several trees have blown over, and blocked the roads from time to time. The best one is the one that blocked the main road so a few of us got to enjoy the Cove before the drove of tourist got in. Rain is mostly falling in sheets, driven by the wind. A large gust of wind just blew pine needles everywhere and some stuck to the wet road. I don’t know what I like about this shot; it’s not one of my better ones got a lot of motion in the tree limbs. Perhaps the rich color brought out by the rain. Maybe it was the shear joy of sitting here and watch nature kick up her heels. Anyway I took a shot and years down the road, when looking thru old work I’ll come across this shot. I’ll remember the joy I felt this day…hope you like it too……made on Cades Cove Loop Road, GSMNP
