This is the finished version of the sketch I did while out in Colorado for a couple days.
Might be my longest piece ever due to school and work and just not really sure on what to do with it color wise. Been trying to expand on my digital painting abilities but am still trying to find that level of awesome I feel I’m lacking.
The tendril glows were influenced by Sam Wise over at Blizzard, now he is a phenomenal artist!
The story is pretty self explanatory….well two stories. The first is in reference to the priests and alter boys issue and how I tried to portray the loss of innocense in this piece with an overwhelming figure of God overbearing the young and lifeless boys.
The other story is my take on how I feel religion has become more of a “scared straight” episode where we hear of all the horror that will come to us if we do not succumb to their version of the afterlife or bible.
I myself am a believer in God, but I do not need to belong to a certain denomination to show that proof. If you look around, you don’t see too many religions based off of the same God yet have different views and rules depending on what faction you side with.
Why can’t belief alone be enough?
