Bound between

The ferryman
Intractable
His price
Remained the same
I had bargained
With my very life
But it was to be of
No avail
There was one thing
And one thing only
That he wanted…
And so I paid
With my soul
As I crossed over
I realised too late
That this journey
Was not required
And my soul
Was not his to take.
In anger
I rose up
And a great battle ensued
But
Without my humanity
Deeds were done
That shook the underworld to
Its core
I knelt
Engulfed by the horror
And begged for his forgiveness…
The echo still
Resounds today
Should you lay an ear
To the ground
