Incarcerating freedom

It seems that her life has been consumed
Her body is racked by spasm and tics
Synapses in her brain have sparked an inferno
Surrounded with all oxygen sucked out
Unable to breathe to think to move
Time loses meaning and the world recedes

Where land and sky merge
To create a horizon of possibility
First she must dampen the bellows that threaten a holocaust within
Problematic when she is so bound up
But she persists though the effort required
To control the tremor
To unpick the knots
The configurations
The twists the turns
Leaves her once again scrambled white fire
Unable to fathom the simplest of things
She is tinder dry where all life has vanished.
Conflagration rages unchecked with the strong possibility of spontaneous combustion
But there is no turning back
The neurons ping
New pathways are navigated
A smoke stained veil begins to lift
From outside one might see a subtle movement
The twitch of lips trying to speak
Knowledge deep within her core rises up like a geyser
She must return from whence she came
To the Living Waters of Life
Descending one step at a time the maelstrom is put out
Immersed in a fetal position eyes wide open returning
To find she is
Profoundly the same yet changed…

when a terrible accident or ill health hit the mind can be overwhelmed, shutting down leaving the body to struggle.. yet the human spirit can not be under-estimated
