The oily water provides a slight film so the time of the day can be easily read
A few clouds dot a hazy blue sky
The barometer has dropped…
A portend of rain ahead confirming what I already know in my bones
A good thing too
Everything so dry
The trees losing their leaves in desperation to survive
Squatting down on my creaky haunches to gaze into the pool’s murky depths
I wonder; “Has another been and done this very same thing?”
Harumph vanity will get you into all amounts of trouble…!
Self-deprecation aside I notice a leaf lying on its back with the
corner turned over… as though its protecting something.
I will let it be
Some secrets are best kept
an image taken of my pond… its been very hot in Melbourne. this poem talks to impending rains and the heat
