The breadth of time

As a girl her feet
Were bound
As a young woman
She knew her place
A beautific object
Precariously sitting on a knife’s edge
Should she fall
More than grace
Would be lost
She truly would be
Through and through

The old one’s reverie
Is disturbed
By the glorious sound
Of running feet
Her granddaughter’s smile
Reflects her own delight
Thinking;
“That there’s no need for words
When such evidence
Speaks for itself…”
