Shadow's sun

Shadow’s sun roamed
The desolate planet
His search unrelenting
But it was for naught
His plight;
To have rest
Seemed impossible,
Distressed
He lay down
And wept
His tears
Created rivulets of
Spring waters
And over time;
Seed pods that had laid dormant
For a millennia,
Burst forth
Their riot of colour
Breath-takingly beautiful
In one particular field
An abundance of freesias
Had sprung forth
It was here
That he lay
And finally he did rest
