Were it so

You are my nemesis
My muse
So why is it
That I can no longer
See what is
Reflected back at me
Dementia is surely just a
State of mind
For though I am
Truly confused
I did have clarity
Just before
It was just yesterday
That my world
Appeared crystal clear
I understood
The pitfalls
The crests
But apparently its
All illusion
I strike out my hand
To catch this mist
To hold onto the
Fading fabric
Of my mind
But I can barely
See it
And to hold it
Is impossible
With reluctance
Or is it relief
I let it go
After all
Tomorrow is another day
And all I need do
Is wake
