The ghosts

A thousand tiny eyes
Peer out
No tears
No hope
No childhood
They see
Where are the mothers
The fathers
The aunties and uncles?
A pair of eyes
A thin ragged boy
Hugs the shadows
Glancing nervously
At the sky
The sun is gone
Maybe he’ll be safe
This time…
The mountains of rubble
Make his journey difficult
But his determination
To find food over-rides
This hurdle
He said; “I tore out my heart
And threw it away…”
What will become
Of these lost little ones?

There are millions of these children alive today, hundreds die every day. One day after the war or celestial retribution the survivors will all be like the little boy who threw his heart away…

    Wonderful Poem.
