A figure painting from quite a while ago. Oil on canvas…pretty self-explanatory stuff.
Not my usual fare.
I thought I’d offer you something else to look at, so don’t try saying that I never gave you anything.
Figure Painting 1 belongs to the following groups:
Fine Arts, Oil Painting and The Artistic Nude Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Nice study Steven from your college days?
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Seth. Yep, it’s from college. I have a much harder time finding nudes to paint these days…especially being married. ;)
Agnes McGuinness
A beautiful portrait, Stephen. Particularly like the composition. Agnes:)))
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Agnes! I appreciate your comment so much that I won’t even hold it against you for spelling my name wrong. ;)
Tahnja
moody, expressive work Steven. Always wonderful to see your work. Is everything ok with you though? Bet your busy q:o)
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Tahnja! Ya, I have been busy. Work seems to come in clumps for me these days. I’m either really, really busy or I’ve got nothing at all to do. ;)

Great composition and use of color Steven! Excellent painting!
Steven Novak replied
Thanks liliana! I’ve never been completely confident when it comes to oil paints. Not that I think I’m terrible, but I could use a bit of work. ;)

i’ve felt like this before…...many times. i love the red and orange stripes that back her. it does have a lonely feel. thanks stephan for reminding me…..
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Stephanie! I remember changing the models expression quite a bit while painting this one. Good to know that the intended feel came across.

wow steven…. it may not be your usual but you should ertainly do more…. great depth of emotion and your colour work is spot on….b
Steven Novak replied
Thanks! I don’t use oils a lot, nor do I paint on canvas all too often. Not really comfortable with my work when it comes to either. I only pull them out when I’m feeling experimental.
