Forest of Emotions
This painting is yet another example of why I think it’s better that I stick to the illustrations and leave the “fine arts” to others. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it’s worse than a Jonas Brothers album or anything, but…well…it is what it is.

I think this could be a new direction for you to take … AS WELL as your fabulous illustrations though, not instead. I am biased in favour of illustrations, especially yours.
Steven Novak replied
I’m not sure if it’ll be a new direction. More like a healthy diversion maybe. ;) Glad you like it though Dave, I appreciate that!
Carlos Teófilo
Confuse way. Seams like a tunnel. Well done.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Carlos, glad you like it.

i think it’s another self portrait… but hey.. i think everything is a self portrait…...... now that’s a scarey thought…...........b
Steven Novak replied
Ya, that is a scary thought. What a bout a picture of dog poop? ;)

i think it’s got great raw color to it, lots of movement. why haven’t you joined my acrylics group eh? and i agree with butch. i think it’s another self.
Steven Novak replied
I did in fact join your acrylics group, but I think the main reason that I hadn’t is because I don’t even own a tube of acrylic paint. ;) I have used them in the past though.
Seth Weaver
Very nice abstract landscape…it has depth and perspective with great color, Steven. This is a great escape from your tightly controlled gorgeous illustrations. Having more than one style is okay just look at my junk.
Steven Novak replied
It is nice to get away from the stuff I usually do, and I think that more than anything is what the recent few things I posted were about. I agree Seth, diversity is a good thing.
Rhana Griffin
Just as I opened this up my ten year old was walking past. He doubled back to take a look and proclaimed “That’s pretty cool”.
I happen to agree with him.
More please! =)
Steven Novak replied
As long as I can impresses ten year old children from the other side of the planet, I know I have it made. ;) Thanks Rhana!
Tania Rose
i reckon it would make an excellent backdrop for one of your illustrations, which you could photoshop into it. My immediate impression is that it’s a railway-track/tunnel concept
Steven Novak replied
Without a doubt I was attempting to show some movement with the piece (whether I accomplished it or not is another story) but it seems that more than a few people have gotten at least that much from, so I feel a little validated. ;) Thanks Tania
Di Dowsett
my first impression wasthe same as tanias….a tunnel! its cool …..well done!
xx
Steven Novak replied
Both you and Tania are very close, well done! Thanks Di!
GloriaDK
Your illustrations are fantastic Steven but you could diverse now and then, this is really good nice and free.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Gloria, I appreciate that. I agree that it is fun to get away from my standard stuff now and then.

Doesn’t anyone realise that this is the art from Radiohead’s album Kid A? Anyone at all?
