The Frozen Lake

Yet another piece from “Snow Man is My Friend.” There aren’t that many more of these left for me to post…what in the world am I going to do when I’ve put them all up?

Crap…there’s not going to be any other option…I’m going to have to make new stuff.

Woe is me my friends…woe is lazy ol’ me.

guess you had better pull out the old trusty pencil and get to work my friend!!

  • Steven Novak replied

Gah…I guess so…sigh…, the eternal struggle between laziness and, not laziness continues on. ;)

Beautiful drawing. He’s gonna have one frozen bum

  • Steven Novak replied

I saw a frozen bum once…but that’s a whole other, extremely depressing story. (that was a WEIRD joke) ;)

haha…new work is fun and rewarding, you will feel great and maybe find a renewed sence of energy!

beautiful piece btw, i like how the leaves act as a frame, it makes me wonder about the story, is the snowman peeking in to see how his friend is doing? maybe not but i’d still love to know the story….

  • Steven Novak replied

Yes, yes, yes, new work is indeed fun and rewarding…but it’s also work. ;) Actually I’m just kidding, I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have a pencil and some paper to pass the time.

  • Steven Novak replied

Thanks, I appreciate it! At first I wasn’t really that crazy about this drawing, but it’s grown on me since I finished it.

There is such sensitivity displayed in these works – heart rendering.

  • Steven Novak replied

Thanks, I appreciate that Lisadee. The whole book that these drawings come from was pretty personal to me. Went though a lot of pencils (among other things) while making it.

  • Steven Novak replied

Thanks Micmac, I’m so happy that you enjoyed the book. It’s seeming less and less likely that I am ever going to get it published these days, so admittedly it feels good to know that someone, somewhere enjoyed it.

  • Steven Novak replied

I still have a few left to post (three or four) but after that I’m going to have to start on new stuff. Still, I’m going to drag out those three or four as long as I can. ;)
