The Frozen Lake
Yet another piece from “Snow Man is My Friend.” There aren’t that many more of these left for me to post…what in the world am I going to do when I’ve put them all up?
Crap…there’s not going to be any other option…I’m going to have to make new stuff.
Woe is me my friends…woe is lazy ol’ me.

guess you had better pull out the old trusty pencil and get to work my friend!!
Steven Novak replied
Gah…I guess so…sigh…, the eternal struggle between laziness and, not laziness continues on. ;)

Beautiful drawing. He’s gonna have one frozen bum
Steven Novak replied
I saw a frozen bum once…but that’s a whole other, extremely depressing story. (that was a WEIRD joke) ;)
HeatherTS
haha…new work is fun and rewarding, you will feel great and maybe find a renewed sence of energy!
beautiful piece btw, i like how the leaves act as a frame, it makes me wonder about the story, is the snowman peeking in to see how his friend is doing? maybe not but i’d still love to know the story….
Steven Novak replied
Yes, yes, yes, new work is indeed fun and rewarding…but it’s also work. ;) Actually I’m just kidding, I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have a pencil and some paper to pass the time.
RavenSoul
Really Like this = ) The solitude and lost in thought of this picture really appeals to me. Great as always Steven
Steven Novak replied
Thanks, I appreciate it! At first I wasn’t really that crazy about this drawing, but it’s grown on me since I finished it.
Seth Weaver
An awesome drawing with a great mood to it. The leaves are stunning. Good Luck when you go back to the drawing board, Steven.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks again Seth!

he seems sad… like he’s missing his friend…............a boat load of emotion in this drawing…......b
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Butch! Hey, did I ever tell you my fathers name was Butch? Don’t worry…I won’t hold it against you. ;)
Lisa Defazio
There is such sensitivity displayed in these works – heart rendering.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks, I appreciate that Lisadee. The whole book that these drawings come from was pretty personal to me. Went though a lot of pencils (among other things) while making it.
Tahnja
love the leaves that make you feel that you’re peeking in on a new little world…
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Tahnja!

I already looked at them several times, that book is so great and everyones that had seen it just loveD all your drawings…a period of cleanning and classifying is good for the inspiration don’t worry Woe,new stuff will come when you’re ready…sorry for the philosophical writing… LOL X
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Micmac, I’m so happy that you enjoyed the book. It’s seeming less and less likely that I am ever going to get it published these days, so admittedly it feels good to know that someone, somewhere enjoyed it.
elisab
You will have to post or make some more. He is such a cute little character.
Steven Novak replied
I still have a few left to post (three or four) but after that I’m going to have to start on new stuff. Still, I’m going to drag out those three or four as long as I can. ;)
butchart

Steven Novak replied
Thanks Margpie! Ya, I can see where you’re getting Winnie the Pooh from. “Tut tut, it looks like rain.” Man I loved that pooh bear when I was young. ;)
