Football (Because I couldn't come up with a better title)
I don’t even really like football, so I’m not exactly sure why in the world I made this. It was done about…wow…six years ago. (Crap I’m getting old).
Not only do I have no idea why I made it then, but I have even less of an idea why in the world I would decide to dust it off, scan it in, and put it up on Redbubble now.
Sigh…I’ve been working too hard lately…I’m losing my mind.

I see we think very much alike. ;) Thanks!

Nice emotional work. 6 years is old to you but to RBers it is brand new. Great colors and composition, Steven.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Seth! So what you’re saying is that time is more a relative term than a universal constant? But let me ask you thi…sigh…this is a conversation for another place. ;)

Still a great painting. The colors are fabulous, as is the mood.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Pinky! There are parts I like about and some not so much. guess the same can be said for everything though. ;)
LostBoy
I`d call i warrior or something…maybe “strength”
Steven Novak replied
Both good choices! Thanks!

You have created such emotion here, great painting.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Chanel2! There are some things I like about it. Not my best work, but not my worst either.
elisab
Nice image, and I am not a sportsman. So you have been talented for quite some time now.
Steven Novak replied
That really depends on your definition of the word talented Elisa. ;) Thanks!
Tahnja
not a footy fan either but this is really wonderful. love the darkness on his face, something draws you to to the image to want to look into it more
Steven Novak replied
“Footy” huh? Not a term I often hear applied to the sport of American football. ;) Glad you like it Tahnja!

Rugby over here is rough and although we have so many people crazy about the game I am not addicted to it. This guy looks as though he is exhausted and battered and getting over it or he could be having a break and considering whether it is worth the while. Nice one Steven, the colours are good too.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Gloria! The colors are really one of the things I like most about it myself. I screwed up on some other stuff, but the colors are decent at least. ;)
RMonroe
Great image, however he looks as if they lost the game:)
Steven Novak replied
Sometimes you’ve got to lose to learn to win? (Ignore me, I don’t know what I’m blabbering about.) ;)
clarkey
Are you sure you haven’t lost it already? It’s full of brightness and darkness – the darkness seems to show the blokes despair at something – maybe, losing a game, or poor performance? The bright colours emphasise the gloominess. Very nicely done,k whatever your reasoning.
Steven Novak replied
Thanks Clarky! I’m always a little leary about my work when it gets too painterly. Maybe it’s just me.

“Les voies du Seigneur sont impĂ©nĂ©trables”...don’t ask me to translate that but this is so special, you realy have talent…even then… :)) I like the contrast and the helpless attitude of the player…like all the real artists you must have tresors in your drawers…
Steven Novak replied
“Les noses en du la integrebe bons.” Don’t ask me to translate it, because it’s nonsense that I just made up. ;) Seriously though, thanks MicMac. I always appreciate your kind words and support.

Ok I’ll do my best … The Voices of God are impenetrable…that’s why you don’t know why you did that image but it’s surely fantastic that you kept it…... :)))
