Awesome work!!!!! Good luck in the challenge :)
Thanks Rust! They already used one of my pieces for the challenge avatar; I was pretty happy just to get that :)
Fantastic piece man. The graphite/texture combination works great!
Thanks man. I’m really into the graphite at the moment. Much as I love to play with ink, sometimes I find it a little tedious; I feel like I’m drawing the same piece twice. I’m rather impatient. I just want to get it done and move on!
love this !
Congratulations Sturstein, your image came 1st place in the Werewolf challengewell doneLaura and Dawn
Couldn’t help but notice this werewolf’s soldier is standing to attention! :)But when I think about it… it actually makes sense… cause if a man turned into his werewolf self… ALL the blood would definitely be pumpin! :) LOL
You’re probably right, but in this case I was simply considering physics. Until he comes to a complete stop, he’ll be subject to the effects of momentum. I considered taking a little more conservative approach, but that seemed kinda lame. I hate reducing my work to technical inaccuracies just to avoid putting noses out of joint ;)
too right!! And you’re right… if this is mid stride then of course… physics would mean that it would be up as the rest of his body was up. really like this and am glad you didn’t go for the conservative approach. There’s a lot of strength in this illustration.
Thanks Pip! I’m glad you like it. Lately I have been rather curious to see just how far I can push boundaries without copping any flak. I half expected this piece to be booted out of the challenge (and I’m amazed that it was actually accepted as the ‘Wolves in Art’ group’s avatar!), and I’m also kinda surpised that no one’s commented on the fact that I had the audacity to put bare breasts on a T-shirt.
This is seriously kickass on every level, from the composition, the graphite skill, the content, and so on. Even a tail! Very not-hollywood-werewolf. ;) Which is a good thing!
Thanks Keto. I haven’t been particularly impressed with a lot of werewolf interpretations (like Hollywood’s), so I just do my own thing :)
Beautifully drawn, and refreshing to see an individual interpretation of a WW ;)Excellent!
Thanks Chris. That’s how I always pictured them in my head. If only it were so easy to represent them in film…
PERFECT in every way, mate!!!….well maybe not the dick, but everything’s just awesome!!!
LOL, thanks. I just find the idea of lycanthropes (at least in their more bestial forms) wearing clothes kinda silly. And constantly trying to find inventive ways of covering certain parts of the anatomy is a bit lame.
Please stop by an investigate our challenges! :-) I love the power and detail in this simple portrait sketch.
