_{I recently graduated from the University of Chichester where I studied a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art (2005 -2008), where in my first two years I undertook a minor in Design for Digital Media.}

My concluding degree work consisted of appropriating and scanning found media images, then digitally manipulating and “detouching” them with the use of Adobe Photoshop to highlight the editing processes they have taken to reach public eyes. As an audience we are surrounded by media images of perfection everywhere we look that tantalize us with hints of what we should aspire to be. These images represent perfection and an ideal beauty that is so unattainable because, in reality, models do not look like that themselves. I endeavoured to draw attention to the sociological pressures taken on by the audience with regard to eating disorders, drug use and the inevitable ageing of our bodies.

Throughout these three years, I have gained valuable knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, with experience in ImageReady, Flash and Dreamweaver. I am also a competent printmaker, skilled in silk-screen printing and etching.

I now currently live in Arundel, West Sussex and am studying a diploma in Professional Photography. I have completed digital editing work and logo designs for local companies and now work as an assistant to an Event’s Photographer; supporting at events and editing images.
