I think that silence can be one of the most amazing tools for humans but also one of the scariest. Personally I have been so scared of isolation and have tried to avoid it. However of late it has been something I could not avoid. However by accepting this silence I have become aware to so many things that were bothering me at a deep level. Now that I have embraced them I am feeling so much more freedom to return to activity.

I like this. I like this a lot. It may be even more effective if you replace that chair with an electric one.

This says something to me about Faith and Belief.
If we only believe what we can see, then I believe that this is half a seat, maybe mounted on the wall.
If I have Faith, then I can believe that there is a complete chair and possibly a bench, too. Who knows? Furthermore, maybe there IS someone sitting there in silence. Could this be a representation for Faith in God?

Thanks for your comment. That’s a slightly different but interesting interpretation of the image. I think it takes my original thoughts a step further in a separate direction. It’s always good to get someone’s thoughts of an image especially when they’re different to the original intention, but kind of on a parallel path if you know what I mean.
I originally intended the viewer to wonder whether whomever was ‘sitting in silence’ on the bench to be that person looking back at where they were once sitting … or maybe there was someone else sitting in the shadows, unseen. Maybe that someone was looking back at themselves, having moved one from a situation that they wanted to move on from and looking back at where they once were; but in reality no-one was there … or were they?

Very thought provoking image! It makes me want to go sit silently in that heavenly ray of light and soak up all the light I possibly can, I definitely don’t want to be on the dark side!
