Taken with a Nikon D60 and Sigma macro lens in my garden, Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia. I found heaps for sale at a local nursery and just had to buy one as they are one of my favourite Aussie plants, love the striking colours and shape of it :)
sturt desert pea, australia, flower
Oh I wish I could find some plants of these – I have tried from seed but without result.
Thanks Kala. Have you tried going to the Lullfitz Nursery up near Wanneroo to get Desert Peas ? I know near where you live is a long drive north but they have all sorts of native plants, I used to live in Mindarie and went there all the time for my garden plants as my garden in Perth was all native. They have good plants that are usually healthy and plenty of different sized pots and tube stock too. It’s on the corner of Caporn street and Honey road in Wanneroo. When I saw these I nearly had a fit, I LOVE them and they are hard to get over here ! Would you believe I got them at Bunnings for goodness’ sake ! Good luck with Lullfitz, it’s worth the drive :)
