Archway
I retain my obsession with windows and doors! I am lucky to have an abundance of interesting specimens in the nearby public gardens.
Still loving the digital manipulation, although what I do in Photoshop usually reflects what I used to do in the darkroom (although my skills in Photoshop are somewhat more).
Final composition consists of three photographs- the initial archway, which is cropped slightly to even up, + I burned (shadows) on the brick areas. Increased the contrast slightly. The second photograph is the sky- I erased the original sky of the archway, and slipped this in behind. Increased the contrast. The third image took ages to settle on- I trialled an orb and a floating leaf and a floating celtic symbol before I settled on the cloud. Decreased the opacity of this layer (its on top) slightly, erased the remaining clouds and heavily dodged as well.
I really can’t say how I know when to stop… but I know it is now :)
