mixed media Acrylic painting on wood. paints, graphite, metals, feathers, beads, cloth, pressed orchids

Art inspired by my dreams and intuitive states of being.

I am A media sculptor and painter. The work is an interchange between the intuitive and rational mind, weaving and balancing these two divergent ways of thinking. My approach is instinctive, capturing the “essence of things”.
The real value in my work lies in its hints and is drawn out through intuition. My artwork has been exhibited in San Francisco, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Washington, Sacramento, Stockton, St. Louis, Hungary, Ireland, Germany and Michigan.

Hello Diane. I don’t understand “Better viewed in real life”? very spiritual in my view. exellent art!

  • Hi Mark, what I try to point out is that the photo only goes so far- when you see the work face to face..you can see all the textures and the materials more. Ie..the dried orchids, or the glass beads…bits of steel, etc…
thanks for your comment! I am grateful for it.

Great Work Diane & One Expressive “Send Off” A Lot Of Feeling Here (For Me Anyway)

  • you are insightful Ken. The work is filled with things of the heart..
Strange that when I started the work… it was for an exhibit and the theme of the show was on Animal Intelligence. I started with that idea but it was more than that… It was on the feelings and the communication that is between a person (in my case…ME) and their dog. My dog Curica.
I was remembering the day before..I had to put her down…and the entire 24 hours we shared…up to the last breath… and the feeling of loss afterward… I was very sad for a great time afterwards and never did finish the work until the past year..when I again was feeling vibes of loss..
not knowing that my very dear friend had passed. Thing was..I had not known…and while working on this work…i actually googled his name and read the obituary..and was..in shock. I had waited for his call for two months..just thought he was out of country.
so, the work started with a huge ache of loss…and ended with the same.
I would like to think that there is a lot of special connections in the work that deal with healing.
It is my hope that the painting can touch others as it has me.
    thanks again for your interest.
