the introductory blurb:
I’m a still work in progress…..
I mainly work in digital media, but I will try some of everything (like resin jewelry, oil/acrylic painting, drawing, sculpture, sewing). Lately, I’ve been getting into book binding. I really like the old school surrealists like Dali and Magritte. There’s something about realistically impossible images that both amuses and intrigues me.
the statement:
Art, among a couple of other things, satisfies my curiosities and my insatiable appetite for learning new things. My goal is to fuse traditional and digital media in ways that are new and refreshing through photo manipulation, collage, and photo enhancement. I want the work to be something visually or emotionally challenging that won’t be easily forgotten.
My current work stems from any combination of dreams, passing thoughts, my quirky sense of humor, experiences, and faith. My digital work heavily uses textures and intense values and color to create a visual and emotional, and hopefully spiritual impact on the viewer. While I don’t often use crosses or images of Jesus, my work and my life have been shaped by Him and biblical precepts, which I hope are reflected in the work itself.
I hope that the work speaks for itself and that it encourages, amuses, and makes you think every once in a while.
