Beltane by Stuart Fellowes
Clear

This digital art depicts a scene, set some 2500 years ago at a Stone circle somewhere in Scotland. The time is Beltane, the start of the new growing season. Two village elders are performing an age old ceremony over the Beltane fire. Once the morning has broken and the fire has died down, the entire community will gather there to celebrate the new season.

This picture was inspired by and features my model of a stone circle.

    Terrific image

  • Thanks for your comment. This is my impression of how a standing stone circle may have been used in the far and distant past.

Love it !I…I too have some standing stones , I live in a apt. and have little spaces …so outside my apt. with the area around the front door and around the side ( where there is dirt I planted standing stones!!! they help protect my small space and any -who vists either knows or is wondering. When I move they are moveing too!!

  • Thank you for your coments. It is thought that one of the purposes that the ancestors used standing stones was to focus and gather energy, both spiritual and Earth’s energy. Your stones will bring good energy to you.

The stones seem alive and active participants in the ceremony. Nicely done, Stuart!

  • The stones are actually a photograph of one of my products..a model stone circle and the stones I used in the original model were found within Easter Auqhorthies stone circle in Aberdeenshire. Essentially the stones are alive both in the model and the picture.
