so surreal..stunning capture
Thanks very much Gary
That light sure is fabulous, Stuart! Will look again when I get home.
Cheers Mel, i’m still digging through the archives and having fun re-editing old shots.
Wow mate, you must have absolutely got the last minute of sunset for the sky to be that blood red. What’s so cool about this is the subtle detail in both the red cloud and the surf on the rocks below reflecting back some of the color… separated by the streak of bright gold. You probably had a window of about as long as your shutter speed to get the conditions right. This is not a typical sunset shot at all Stuart. It’s a farken amazing sunset shot !!
Thanks very much BB, this was actually the laziest sunrise possible, taken a day before the shortest day meant that at quarter to eight in the morning the sun had yet to peep over the horizon, and I took advantage to travelling to the furthest of jaunts to date from my house as the start is not as painfully early!
The colours lingered in the sky for a little while as I have about 4 or 5 shots before this one with a similar tinge in the sky as can be seen here which was taken 9 minutes before this one. Looks like a good day to go out for more than the “lie in”
Great capture Stuart love it.
Thank you Julie
This is a true cracker, Stuart. I love the reflected light in the foreground clouds. Beautiful photography, mate….x
Thanks very much Ulla, it was a cracking morning.
Great image Stuart..!
Excellent work Stu, really stunning light.. love that dramatic movement in the sea. I’m guessing this is Viking Bay.. the rocks to the right of the tidal swimming pool?
Cheers Mike, it is indeed Viking Bay, if you look closely enbough you can see a line of concrete to the left of the shot in the middle of the sea with a build up of wave around it. That is the edge of the swimming pool
beautiful work Stuart!
