Born in Canterbury, Kent, in 1971, I have always been surrounded by beautiful countryside and varied and diverse coastline. Photography has become an outlet for expressing my love for the region.
this is beautiful Stuart! that red field, just like a delicate carpet is amazing with that light and mix of blue sky and green grass. curves of the hills create a nice perspective ;)
Thanks very much indeed. I feel that this field may still have a little more to offer but it’s the best one i’ve come across yet.

Gorgeous shot of the poppy fields, i just love the intense red :-) Beautiful !!!
Cheers Fred, i’m drawn to them every year and start scouring the fields at the end of May.
What a beautiful landscape; the colours really pop! Love the gentle slope and the hint of trees just along the ridgeline. Certainly caught my attention.
Thank you so very much Adriana, the poppies do pop so nicely when the sun hits them and the trees were are nice bonus to have on the horizon.
Love the vibrancy Stuart and I’m so jealous.
I have driven around the countryside several times on the hunt for poppies but have not been able to find any. Guess I need to get over to Stowting quick!
Thanks very much Alice. They’re only just starting to come out now and this is a good week or so earlier than what i’ve seen before.
This field is next to Stone Street just after the sixmile junction (from Canterbury to Hythe). There’s a parking bay off Stone Street next to the field and I went down the (very) steep hill to the side of the field in the woods until I reached an open gate at the bottom.
Stunning colours mate. Getting cold here now so makes me a touch envious too!!
Thanks Dave, i’m sure you’ll get your own back in 5-6 months time!
The intensity of these reds is fantastic and mesmerizing!
Thanks very much indeed Maria – very kind
STUNNING is Right!!!! This makes me want to be right there!!! Gorgeous capture!
Thanks very much indeed – much appreciated
just breathtaking … how I love seeing the poppies … they aren’t found around here much. In fact, we bought and planted three perennials (not seeds … plants!) about three years ago … and every year the plants come up … and every year I cross my fingers, and every year they die back without blooming. : (( so I guess I’ll just have to get my poppy fix here!!!! Gorgeous image in which everything came together beautifully!!!!!
Thanks very much indeed Lois, shame to hear that you’ve not had any success in three years :(
Yes, the conditions were very much on my side tonight.
Beautiful, I love poppies …
Thanks a lot Tom – do you get many near you?
Great colour Stuart
Thanks a lot Mark – much appreciated
