Born in Canterbury, Kent, in 1971, I have always been surrounded by beautiful countryside and varied and diverse coastline. Photography has become an outlet for expressing my love for the region.
So cool to see this in monochrome Stuart, and I personally think it outweighs any take on this view I’ve ever seen. I already appreciate that you’re a master of the art of shutter speed technique… but the dynamic you’ve achieved with the cascading water is stunning and it makes this image one of the post powerful I’ve seen in ages.I think it has to do with the contrast between the still of the evening and the turbulence of the water… as if nothing will ever calm the beast.Perfect framing and use of natural light. Wow.This is masterful work mate !!
Wow, that is some comment and a half BB (and I didn’t realise I hadn’t really been “on” here for nearly a week before seeing this wonderful comment).
Never the master, always the experimenter, trying a variations until I get the lucky one. Taken in the mid afternoon with a stack of ND grads on, experimenting between turning some upside down the balance between the sky and the sea when lit by the sun and the dark water outlet and Towers took a lot of mucking about.
I have been trying to get the “great” shot from here for about five years now and still waiting for the peak conditions and hope I can one day get the colour version I can picture in my mind.
Thanks again for the rocking comment BB :)

You did exactly the right thing going for monochrome here Stu! Fabulous!!!
Cheers Mel, I played around with the colour one for hours, before going back to the Raw file and starting again in monochrome.
Everything Billyboy said …. I would like to repeat !! Sorry if this sounds lazy ….. but he is so right & has written a great comment !! :))))
