Shot narrative:
I’ve been after a shot of these cooling towers for a number of years now, and had the good fortune on the way back from the RBUK meet up to be travelling past with the camera in the car. Fortunately the weather was excellent too and I couldn’t have wished for a better sky at that time of the day.

One word for this image Stuart….... (drum roll)...... HUGE!
These cooling towers are MASSIVE and yet they look very small in this shot. The expansive sky dwarfs these giants. A wonderful perspective.
Steven Agius
Brillant I agree with Andrew, towers like these are huge yet amongest the clouds they look insignificant a stunning capture Stuart.
Steven Guy
Hey Stuart, I am so glad I added you to my watch list. I love your work.

As long as you forget about the environmental thing-
power-plants can really look beautiful, your photo proves it! The red soil and the dark blue sky make it look like something out of an advertising brochure, somewhere in a tropical land.

I love the colors here and the sky is amazing, It was a good day to have the camera huh?
RichardV
Love that sky.
Naomi Frost
Loved it the first time you posted it and still loving this one. I think it’s the colour that gets me.
bidkev
Yeah, those clouds dwarf the towers. brilliant perspective and colour.

You’ve got a lot of good work here Stuart, but this one really caught me eye. There’s always something a little “extra” about a work that uses something that most people would see as mundane and not give a second glance.

This pic was taken not very long ago, as I seem to detect the workings where there is a railway station being built by the cooling towers, which is currently a ‘work in progress’, and in my opinion, something of a white elephant.
Once again, a stunning skyscape, beautiffully handled.
Cain Doherty
As a hostile construction under a amiable sky this is very, very neat Stuart.

powerful shot

Very cool. Great color and contrasts.

Hehe, you’re somehow able to let even a powe-plant look wonderful :)
Mel Brackstone
This is epic, Stuart! What you’ve captured here is just amazing! Love the framing, that sky is awesome, and the colours are WOW! Is that red dirt?? Gotta love a wide angle view :)
Rachel McKinnie
Wow!!!! It’s all been said. Just awesome!
