I’m certainly quite content to look at this for a very long time. The clouds add a beautiful backdrop to those magnificent trees, and I love all the textures. Monochrome is perfect for this!

  • Stuart Chapman replied

Thanks very much Mel – Normally driving past this spot, just happened to be walking out of my way one day.

I love this time of year when the trees shed their pretty clothes and instead display their wonderful silhouettes to us. Beautifully presented Stuart :)

Oh and a message for Mel ^ Stop procrastinating and get those taxes done insert cheeky giggle here

  • Stuart Chapman replied

Just the trees and me that seem to wear less in the cold winter months, although the trees don’t do it out of manly stupidity :)

Beautifully stark Stuart – already feels very wintry with the b/w really accentuating the mood as well as the form of the trees.

  • Stuart Chapman replied

Thanks very much Geoff – we need some compensation for the cold weather

Do you have a special agreement with someone above to have the clouds arranged the way you wish, Stuart?
This is a great B&W, and you have spotted the possibilities here in the best possible way.
I to like it when the trees shed the leaves and show off the branches and twigs.

  • Stuart Chapman replied

Thanks very much Kofoed for your lovely comment – for every shot with nice clouds there’s 20 on my hard drive without them – you just get to see the ones when the clouds play ball.

Your images never cease to amaze me Stuart. You see things that I miss all the time, and then produce a winning shot like this. Beautiful, powerful, dramatic and so well crafted.
    xx

  • Stuart Chapman replied

Thanks very much Anna – you say the nicest things.

This is wonderful – I love the POV. Can I ask what lens you are using? It almost has a fisheye look to me, I love the slight tilt of the vertical line.

  • Stuart Chapman replied

Thanks very much Deborah – the lens is the Nikon 18-55 (I think it’s stuck on 18mm :)) and i’ve tried to straighten out the slight bend (although knowing my luck i’ve made it worse! :))

You nipped indoors to do a self portrait so I borrowed them for 5 minutes. They soon went back when you summoned them up the M2!
