today i said goodbye to you, i always knew our love was fleeting,
i stood there feeling your icy beauty, & knew i would never give up,
my heart beat rhythmically, a smile upon my lips that to, like you, soon would fade,
but here in the cold, in the moment, my love to you for eternity i gave,
i wished with all my heart that this would last forever, though i knew it could not be so,
i opened my eyes, stood up and walked away, and left my soul in the snow.
