once, a kingdom fought, a long and bloody war for territories and technologies.
In the midst of the bloodshed, a young woman waited for the return of one very dear to her.
one night a small sparrow fluttered in through her window, weak as a new born babe and a quite as a sleeping bear in winter.
“what is wrong little bird”,she asked the creature.
it fluttered up to face her and replied,
“I have been fighting in the war,” it tweeted, “I have been fighting on the front line, defending my home and my family from the invaders, the crows. But I got lost among the fighting, and lost my family. the crows chased me far across the land and I am so weary from fighting. the owls formed an allegiance with me and some others of my kind, but we are so small that they could at any moment turn on us and eat us as easily as they do door-mice.
we are sick of death and fighting. we are tired from being scared all the time. we see you humans fight all the time and wonder why you continue.”
“we fight for land, we fight to be the best we can be,” the lady answered.
“but land does not belong to you, and war brings out the best in nobody,” the sparrow replied, "I will be glad when all this is over.
“will you go find you family?” asked the lady
“I doubt they still live, both wars effect our chances of survival,”the little bird said," they more than likely got lost in the carnage, our home destroyed, but all the same I will look, in the same way you watch the road every day, for a man that will never come."
and with that, the little sparrow flew out the window, into the fading gloom.

This is beautiful, Strawberries. I love the rich, dark colours and your model’s upward gaze. The setting is rather eerie, too.

  • thankyou my friend.

There is poetry in your captivating image and a lesson in your story and so the great wise owl who flew with the sparrow has his story to tell:

    “An Old Wise Owl
    Sat on the Oak.

    The more he heard
    the less he spoke.

    The less he spoke,
    the more he heard:

    Follow the example
    of the Old Wise Bird…"

And so then, the beautiful princess took off her mask and with her exquisite eyes she drew a happier ending because…that too, is meant to be…

  • that is very beautiful, thankyou
