The Gray Wolf (Canis lupus), or Timber Wolf, was nearly exterminated by landowners and trappers. Today, it has made a comeback in the west thanks to careful management and conservation efforts.

    They’re beautiful animals.
Did you ever see the video by Disney Studios called, NEVER CRY WOLF! (Don’t watch the last 15 minutes of it; it will both make you angry and break your heart.) (It’s not a cartoon.)

  • Hello Dayonda,

Can’t say that I have seen it. Thanks for the warning, and the nice comment. These are indeed amazing creatures.

Did you see this beauty in the wild? Super image!

  • Lee-Anne,

Not in the wild, unfortunately. It was taken at Parc Omega near Montebello, Quebec.

Thank you for your kind words.

Poor wolves have such a bad rap. The thought of them contained breaks my heart and yet I know that in the wild they are persecuted and killed. Your images can help break the barrier down and I hope you continue to shed your light on them.

Very nicely done. I take a lot of photos of their kissing cousins the Mexican Gray Wolf.
