Northern Saw-whet Owl
The Northern Saw-whet Owl (Aegolius acadicus) is a regular visitor to our area in the winter months. Cute as a button, this bird of prey is also an accomplished hunter, feeding on small rodents. It is hard to judge its size by the photo, but these birds are about the size of a pop can. How deliciously deceiving. ;^)
