Aces High by Vince Scaglione

Clouds rushing in and giving the sunset a natural tint, also bringing high hopes of rain but besides the temperature the only other thing that was high remained our hopes, as we did not get the rains we so badly need! This image was shot in west Wichita and has been replaying itself almost daily. Clouds build, storms ignite then fall apart as they scoot by the city, only to strengthen and rebuild once they have past us!

I love weather and photography so I try to spend most of my spare time enjoying both! I am an amateur tornado/storm chaser so I do get some nice opportunities to capture nature at it’s fierce moments, but I also love to capture Gods canvas at dusk in the way of sunsets! I have a lot to learn but I am willing to go through whatever it takes in order to do so!

Congrats on your features….Well deserved. Stunning shot. Hope you get your needed rain soon

  • Thanks Jean! Yeah it missed us again today. Last year we went up and over 100 degrees around 55 days during the summer. They claimed this year would be nothing like last year but as of today we have been over 100 degrees about 25 times and the forecast for the next ten days is highs from 105 to 110, meanwhile we still have the end of July, all of August and even the first two weeks of September, which we can get 100 degree days!

PS choosing as a favorite for SURE.

  • Thank you very much! I am sorry that I missed the challenge but I never win them anyway. After over 100 tries I kind of lost my will to compete!
