Tah-Wah-Koni Jim Of The Wichita Tribe

Vince Scaglione

Wichita, United States

Artist's Description

This is a tribute to the founder and chief of the Wichita tribe, the name sake of the city of Wichita. In the background is the massive over 180 foot tall “Keeper Of The Plains” monument contributed by the great Native American artist Blackbear Bosin. This monument is part of the “All American Indian Center” located on the banks of the Arkansas river as it travels through the heart of the city of Wichita. The Wichita tribe are the original inhabitants of this exact area for it’s healthy soil and plentiful supply of water.
