HELLO & WELCOME. My name is WAYNE REID.

HERE’S A BRIEF BIO…
Born in New Zealand, I arrived in Australia in 1976. Although I work in Aged Care, my creative passion is photography.

My first photographic interest was street photography.
In Auckland, NZ, in the turbulent 1960s and 70s, I photographed a vibrant community expressing its political concerns. Now my focus is more environmentally oriented, as I turn my lens to the landscape in all its grandeur and also its small, sometimes abstract, detail.

I try to create images that speak of the hope, the beauty & the mysteries in the world around us. I use basic equipment & simple techniques, but I feel that these are secondary to my main goal, which is to “keep it simple & keep it true”

PERSONALLY…
I live, with my partner, Helen, two stray cats & a kitten (who have adopted us), in an old farmhouse outside a little town called Winchelsea, an hour and a half’s drive from Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. We enjoy a great view of the northern end of the bush-clad Otway Ranges, & are only a short drive from some beautiful walks, not to mention being close to the wild and wonderful, “Great Ocean Road”
We love it here…
