This statue/sculpture is at the entrance to Tully – the officially wettest town in Australia.
The photo shows two things, firstly the gumboot and secondly, the fact that the sun does shine there sometimes. I have had to wait a while for it though.
The plaque in front of the gumboot says:
“The height of the gumboot represents the amount of rainfall recorded in Tully in July in the year 1950 – 79 meters – The Australian record "
Tully is in Far North Queensland, Australia.
