Mission Beach with Crab Balls and Dunk Island by

Mission Beach showing the crab homes on the sand. They go all along the beach – as soon as the tide goes out they start building. When the tide comes back they get washed away again – unless they are high up on the beach and the next tide doesn’t come up so high.

Dunk Island is on the horizon of this image.

North Mission Beach is near Tully in Tropical Far North Queensland, Australia.

It takes about one and a half hours to drive north to Cairns from this spot.

My practical painting tutors include people from the Flying Art School (1978 to 1981), the Studio West End (2004 to 2010) and the Brisbane Institute of Art (2008 to 2011).

I began printmaking in 2004 at the Studio West End, then started again there in 2006.I have done it constantly since 2006 at either the Studio West End or the Brisbane Institute of Art.

Darkroom techniques were obtained from the Brisbane Institute of Art beginning in 2009.
