Boats Moored in Mourilyan Harbour by

Boats are moored in Mourilyan Harbour. This is a harbour in Far North Queensland near Innisfail. It is mostly known as a bulk sugar terminal.

This photo was taken with a Canon 20D SLR.

Mourilyan Harbour is in Far North Queensland, Australia. The closest township is Mourilyan and the next closest town is Innisfail.

My practical painting tutors include people from the Flying Art School (1978 to 1981), the Studio West End (2004 to 2010) and the Brisbane Institute of Art (2008 to 2011).

I began printmaking in 2004 at the Studio West End, then started again there in 2006.I have done it constantly since 2006 at either the Studio West End or the Brisbane Institute of Art.

Darkroom techniques were obtained from the Brisbane Institute of Art beginning in 2009.

    Very peaceful scene

  • Quite peaceful – with the pilot boat and coastguard boat just across from them. The whole place was a lot busier than I remember from years ago when I used to visit it with my father. In those days you were allowed to walk on the jetty and go right up to the bulk sugar vessels. It seems to be all locked up now – not that I made any attempt to go there but someone else mentioned to me it was all locked up.
