South Mission Beach - sea sand and traffic by

South Mission Beach looking south east showing some local traffic on the street. Taken with my Sony compact digital camera. This is about a 15 minute drive from El Arish. It is in Far North Queensland Australia.

I think my car was the only one I saw actually driving along here while I was there taking photos. I did notice another one but it didn’t go far. It was a 4×4 towing a boat trailer that drove around a roundabout and went back towards the boat ramp the way it had come from. The roundabout was a tree in the middle of the road with ‘keep left’ nailed to it.

It seems to be a fairly quiet spot.

My practical painting tutors include people from the Flying Art School (1978 to 1981), the Studio West End (2004 to 2010) and the Brisbane Institute of Art (2008 to 2011).

I began printmaking in 2004 at the Studio West End, then started again there in 2006.I have done it constantly since 2006 at either the Studio West End or the Brisbane Institute of Art.

Darkroom techniques were obtained from the Brisbane Institute of Art beginning in 2009.

    What a fabulous beach………………………love the palm trees…………………perfect…………….Joyce

  • Thank you Joyce.

It was so good for me to go back home for a few months. I am back at work now and trying to manage my RB activity by iPhone while I sit at my desk. I do plan to get out and do some more art work soon though. I am now two days drive from this beach. This photo makes it easy to remember.

  • Thank you.

It is very nice and quiet. But I hear they are clearing more virgin rainforest to add another housing estate there so it will probably become less quiet soon.
