THIS IS THE STORY OF WHY AND OF HOW
Zheriyaxl sat in the vast openness of space. He sat still and he sat long, at one with the nothingness. He sat till he could sit no longer and so Zheriyaxl stood and opened wide his mouth and screamed the scream that was being. From his mouth flew spittle with the scream and the spittle flew around the heaven and formed the stars.
Zheriyaxl was so pleased with his work that for a long time he could only stand and watch as the stars swirled around him. Then he began to laugh in his joy. It was a laugh so big and so full that it formed into a solid golden orb that was the sun.
Again Zheriyaxl stood and watched his stars and his sun and they were good things. Yet Zheriyaxl felt that his heaven was not complete, was not done and this made him sad. From his eye came a giant silver tear and this tear was the moon.
Heaven was now complete and for a long time Zheriyaxl was happy in his place. The place that was his and that he had created. After the longest time had passed and returned three times did Zheriyaxl begin to wish to go further than heaven. So he stepped from heaven and fell for many more times until he had fallen so far that he fell back into heaven.
This displeased Zheriyaxl so that his anger rose and in his fury and he spat out of heaven and so the great sea was formed. The great sea was called Chava and she was a wild and angry sea, a vicious sea that scared even Zheriyaxl, so much so that he broke a bit off the sun and blew on it till it was cool. He then enclosed Chava with it. This calmed Chava so that some days she was smooth and gentle and Zheriyaxl would leave heaven and walk her shores and listen to her soft song and stare at her beauty. Some days though, Chava would be angry once more and scold and scream at Zheriyaxl. When these days happened then Zheriyaxl would use his breath to form the clouds to hide her anger from him.
To try and appease Chava, Zheriyaxl pulled out three hairs from his chin, these he broke into many pieces and scattered in the Great Sea so that they became the fish and the creatures of the sea. These creatures at once fell in love with Chava’s beauty and depth and great wisdom, so much so that if they ever left her embrace then they surely died. Chava was still angry with Zheriyaxl for trapping her in a piece of the sun. This was especially when the tear moon was largest in the heavens and sadness crept through creation. Then Chava would swell to her greatest height and mock Zheriyaxl alone in his heaven. The creatures of the sea would join in with Chava, laughing at Zheriyaxl even though he had created them. This was how great their love for Chava was.
This angered Zheriyaxl and he decided to stop their betrayal. He reached and pulled out the nail from his largest toe on his right foot. This he fashioned into Llarox, the Great Sea Eagle. Llarox would perch in the mountains that surround Chava and would take any fish that dared to rise above the surface to mock Zheriyaxl.
Llarox was a vain bird in his beautiful brown and white feathered coat, his sharp and strong talons and his great beak. He cried to Zheriyaxl that he must surely be a king and if he was a king then where were his subjects. Zheriyaxl loved Llarox and agreed that he was a fine king and so reached down and pulled free the remaining four nails from his right foot. These he crumbled in his hand and scattered in the air around the mountains so that the birds were created. He then pulled a handful of hair from his head and split it a million times a million ways and planted the bits so that their were trees and plants on which the birds could feed and could nest.
Things were like this for a very long time and once more would Zheriyaxl leave heaven to walk along Chava’s shores and stare at her beauty with secret love. As time passed as time must do then it became more and more difficult for Zheriyaxl to walk the shores as the trees and plants had grown so much as to hinder his path. Even from heaven their great growth obscured the sight of his beloved Chava.
So once more Zheriyaxl reached down and this time pulled the nails from the toes of his left foot. With the first three he created all the animals whose existence would depend on devouring the plants that obscured his view. So as these would not grow so great he used his last two nails to create all those beasts that would owe their existence to devouring the plant-eating animals. Zheriyaxl created all these creatures in such a balance as that the growth or decline of one set would affect the growth and decline of the other.
Finished, he sat back in heaven and was almost satisfied. Almost, but not quite for his love of Chava still caused him pain in a corner of his heart. Yet Zheriyaxl was happy with his creation and so for many times many swirls of the stars all was well and Zheriyaxl saw his creation as a whole and he called this whole Asf and Asf was deaf and mute but was life in all its entirety,
Less and less could Zheiyaxl bear to walk the shores of his beloved Chava, Chava who was still angry at being spat out of heaven even though she was now part of Asf and as such then an equal partner to heaven itself. Asf and Heaven who were together creation and the result of Zheriyaxl’s scream of being.
Chava did not wish to be part of Asf though, feeling that she had been tricked when Zheriyaxl had trapped her in the cinders of the sun. For this reason she could not love Zheriyaxl as he loved her. Zheriyaxl knew this and the pain in the corner of his heart grew till he could bear it no longer. Zheriyaxl reached down into his own mouth, down into his own chest and pulled out the corner of his heart that was filled with his pain-love for Chava.
With this piece of heart he created Man whom he named Yadl which means son. He place Yadl upon Asf and told him that it was his and yet he was only part. Zheriyaxl told Yadl he was to walk the shores of Chava for him and to love her as he had. With this Zheriyaxl returned to sit in heaven as was his place.
Yadl did as he was told and he loved Chava but also respected her because he knew who she was. So much that she allowed him to fish in her waters as long as he was respectful. Yadl was lonely though, Zheriyaxl had gone back to his heaven and the beasts around him feared him for he was Zheriyaxl’s son. Yadl would walk the shores of Chava and cry in his isolation.
Chava heard his cries and felt sorry for the Man who was the pain of a love she had not returned. So, one night when the silver moon was at it’s largest then Chava reached up and tore a piece off, she then mixed this with a part of herself and in this way did create woman. The woman she also named Chava as she was part of herself.
Yadl was happy and he loved and respected Chava as he had her mother. He also feared her slightly especially when the tear moon was at it’s greatest and sadness crept around creation. Chava the daughter was happy because no longer was she trapped by the cinders of the sun but was free to do as she wished as part of the Great Asf. Yadl and Chava would have many children who were called the Chavayadlii who were strong and good and remembered the story of Chava and Zheriyaxl who to this day sits in his heaven.
