I know what you mean, it was very tempting to do this photograph as a pure black and white, but I just wanted to try something new. With textures I want to be very careful because I would never want to mess with the integrity of the photograph too much. I still want the soul of the picture to shine through. Hi Stephanie – the texture is just a another photograph. For example say you photographed the surface of a rusty barrel or did a close up of tree bark, you could then use that photo and overlay that texture onto your main photograph. Then with photo editing software you can adjust and fade how intense the texture is so that it does not over power your main image. I’m sure I am not explaining it very well, and there is more to it than that, but that is the jist of it. :) Thank you so much for your comment and kind words.
