I couldn’t upload images of other bikers and not upload one of myself, the temptation is to much te he :)

Mewok?.. well this is me riding the Ewok Trail at Glentress Mountain Bike Trails, Peebles Scotland. Glentress is just outside of Peebles Village and offers superb biking trails, and in my opinion the best in the UK. It has it all, freeriding, downhill and XC all in one area and they all incorporate into each other. Start your route by doing the cross country and when you get to the top its downhill, on your way downhill you have a freeride park :)

You see, Scotland has it sorted when it comes to health and fitness/outdoor recreation, and are without a doubt well knowen for it through the Forrestry Commision. Not only do they invest alot of money into building new bike trails for riders and familys alike, they put alot of money into tourism to help promote there beauty around them, the Countryside. Hiking is very popular in Scotland with Ben Nevis being Global. Ben Nevis is also the home to the UCI Mountain Bike Championships which are soon to be held there in June, for the 4th year in a row. This event alone attracts over 250 thousand spectators as they flock to see there favourite riders take on the most demanding course in the UCI.

You see, Ireland has it all wrong. Take Northern Ireland for example, for years we have had to build ILLEGAL trails because the Forestry Service ( scotland have F Commsion ) dont want to take repsonsablilty in the maintainance and up keep. Bike clubs get together and write letters, make phone calls and try and arrange meetings. Meetings do happen with a 50/50 outcome, 50 being on there side and the other 50, well theres too!!!………..

…………… i missing something here……………………………

………well yea, Scotland are making a fortune in Tourism through health and countryside. Thousands of bikers travel there every year from Ireland, Why, because Scotland are offering something they want and cant get it in Ireland, well not to the same level anyway, after all the trails we build get ripped back down again. Hate that!!!

This picture is to thank the Trail Builders for all there time and effort they put into building superb sustainable trails. Im only to glad i now live just 2 hours drive away :) :) :) YAY!!!!

Im heading of to Glentress next weekend ( easter ) for a weeks bikng and a few mates are headin over from Ireland……..Sweet as!!!!!

So your wondering who took the pic lol well that was my pal StevieD, he used my camera but ill still give him credit for it, te he thanks Bud!!
