So superior to me in almost every way, yet she lowers herself down to my level by saying “I love you.” No one can make my heart and soul burn with words like she can. No one can make me say those words back and mean it with every part of me.
She makes me want to grow years older in a second in hope that I’d be mature enough to get over all the shit that’s getting in my way and just live as myself, leave behind the school yard putdowns, the condescending parents and “friends” and just be our selves and be comfortable with that.
I want to be able to lie beside her and not feel the sickly hot tendrils of desire sweep through my brain and embed themselves deeply, creeping deeper and deeper into my self control.
She smiles a lot, but it doesn’t often reach her eyes, but when it does it makes me want to be a better person and make the world a better place for her, because this smile tells me the one thing I’ve always wanted to hear better then words ever could.
