Superb capture and treatment, ours went weeks ago!

  • Steve Sharp replied 29 days ago

Cheers David, well just 1 mile from home I have the country’s biggest gathering of rooks to enjoy all winter – all 80000 of them, quite a sight and sound on winter evenings! (oh, and thousands of geese on the marshes, ironically the whole area comes alive with birdlife in the winter round here!)

  • David Lewins LRPS

Hope you don’t look upwards too often! ;)) I would probably spend all winter shooting the geese (with the camera that is) I often hear them early morning when I’m out with the dogs and I know they often rest at a local pond but that is about it. Some blokes have all the luck! ;))

  • Steve Sharp replied 29 days ago

He he, no, not wise around dusk ;) Well you know I’d happily trade the geese for the hills David! One night I was working on the marshes and we disturbed thousands of geese and the cacophony of noise was staggering, and even a little intimidating as they were invisible in the night sky!

Very nice shot. The birds are gathering here in preparation for their southern migration. It seems migration comes later every year.
