Steve Sharp replied
Thanks jlbt, its quite unobtrusive from the outside, but a little gem inside!
Ursula Rodgers
Absolutely beautiful work Steve.
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Ursula, you would love Kazimierz, it is full of dark, candlelit, eclectic bars (I know you like your candles!)
Glenn Alderson
Fantastic point of view :)
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Glenn, the point of view didn’t require getting up from the table, always handy when that happens ;-)
rosedew
I’m feeling the atmosphere – splendid!!
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Rosedew – I think I was feeling the er… ‘atmosphere’ by the end of that night!
Joan Smart
come right in and sit right down !!! you can feel the warmth !! Stunning !! the depth and tones great
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Joan, it was a little warm haven against the cold gloom of Krakow in January, a lovely place.
ANNETTE HAGGER
Absolutely beautitful Steve, I so loo kforard to seeing you add new work..anna ; )
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Anna, that’s very kind of you.
Amy Clark
It’s beautiful and has such great atmosphere….I wish we had places like that here.
Steve Sharp replied
If you ever get the chance to go, Kazimierz is full of little bars, many of them with a similarly dark, slightly shabby but gloriously cosy ambience.
Mark Ross
Captures the essence of a place, I for one have never been to but now feel as though I have. Very ethereal and captivating work.
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Mark, it was one of the cosiest, effortlessly beautiful bars I’ve ever been in, anywhere.
Ursula Rodgers
lol! I’m there! I’m guessing there was a handy table to keep that camera straight :P
Cody Grimsrud
love the mood in this capture!
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Cody, glad you liked it!
Dorit
wonderful shot Steve.. such a cosy inviting place… love the angel and the warm tones. Can’t see any camera shake.. you must have been on water all night :)
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Dorit – about 5 hours of drinking quite strong Polish beers and still managed to hold the camera steady… quite proud of my efforts there!
Kitsmumma
Gorgeous work, looks lovely and warm the light is beautiful and I love the perspective.
Steve Sharp replied
Thankyou!, its hard to believe that such shabby chic could be so perfect – I’ll never really be sure how much of it was designed or accident!
Dawid Michalczyk
So much atmosphere here!
Steve Sharp replied
Thankyou Dawid, I agree, such an amazing place.
aaronschwartz
Love this! Great shot. I want to go there.
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Aaron, this was by no means the only atmospheric bar there, there were plenty just as good as this one! Bar heaven….

FABULOUS
Jennifer Woodward
This is fantastic, Steve! The lighting and soft feel create a very cosy atmosphere, and I just love the angle… puts me in mind of Escher! :-)
Jan Piller
Oh I love this!!
Judith Oppenhe...
Steve, this is living proof of your extraordinary talent – it’s breathtaking.
Steve Sharp replied
Wow thankyou Judith! This was just one of many atmospheric bars in Kazimierz, I’d love to photograph more of them some day.
Maria Mann
Exquisite, Steve! What a wonderful feeling. Bravo.
Matt Bottos
Wow… I’d love to have a drink (or two ..) at this place. Again with an amazing mood to the location. I love the composition of your images… such a surreal / fantasy look to them. Reminds me a little of something Tim Burton might do
Steve Sharp replied
Very belated thanks Matt :)
Lorena Maria
Fantastic I loooove this place!
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Lorena, have you actually been in this very bar? Possibly the loveliest bar I’ve ever been in (and I’ve been in quite a few!)
Sharon Mau
Brilliant work Steve, it is a beautiful perspective and I love the effects from your post work :))
Steve Sharp replied
Thankyou Sharon; post-work to this shot is reasonably minimal actually
Milos Markovic
And this is stunningly beautiful photo, one of my favorites as you know.
As hard as it is to pronounce the site name, it is so special that it is worth of many tryouts !
Steve Sharp replied
I think the pronounciation is the same as Echeveria, the plant, but I agree, it is a very inpenetrable language, Polish (well, they all are for me!) – but I did try and occasionally made myself understood :)
billyboy
WOW this is awesome… kind of reminds me of the way Hitchcock blew everyone away with his unique perspective, somehow discovering that showing ceilings added a melodramatic vibe to a scene…
With or without the ceiling view, this just so totally boils in atmosphere and takes me to a place that is as fascinating as it is melancholy. I love the way your mixture of light sources intermingle and illuminate the austere furnishings and eerie walls… and that amazing tree with the red balls…
This is one of the coolest and most original shots I’ve seen in ages, and it’s going straight into my faves!
Steve Sharp replied
I really thank you for your considered words Billy, and happy that the image has successfully communicated the magic of that little bar to you. If you ever get the change to go (especially on a cold winter’s night), I can promise you you will love it… it is a special place.
Milos Markovic
I strongly believe that beer could only help, Steve :)
Steve Sharp replied
I think you’re right! :)
Sharon Mau
Lorena Maria
Hey Steve.. no… I never been in that place. but I’d like to .. wonderfuL melancholic athmosphere effects.. awesome!
David Silsbury
Great image Steve, well done and congratulations on your feature.
David
Steve Sharp replied
Thankyou David, its nice that it was featured too :)
Barb Leopold
I love the image, and I love what the Ricohs can do (I have a Ricoh GRII and I love it!)
Steve Sharp replied
Thanks Barb; my GX100 is currently broken; still hoping it might be fixable but I really miss that camera, have a CX1 but it doesn’t come close. The GX was the best camera I’ve ever owned :)
