Casting Light
NOT FOR SALE – not culturally cleared by UKTNP media office
The late afternoon light moves across the face of Uluru highlighting the sedimentary textures of the rock. This angle of light will soon disappear as the sun moves toward the winter solstice position. It is very much an honour to know such a revered Australia Icon so very well.

Fine image of the rock….......don’t quite understand “not culturally cleared….................” are you a professional photographer or does any bodies pictures of the rock have to be cleared to be sold ?
Steven Pearce replied
Every image take in the park has to be cleared by UKTNP Media Office in order to be used for commercial purposes.

Such a wonderful image, the starkness of the trees in front only emphasises the lovely rich colour of the rock itself. Top shot.

Amazing! LoL, you already know that it’s superior. . . it’s Australian! (Good natured hooting here from California girl here.) It’s unbelievable, but I know it’s real. I’m in awe!

Thanks for yor answer to my question, had a look at the UKTNP rules and could not believe my eyes….................
Steven Pearce replied
Yeah it sounds crazy but its not Ayres Rock anymore its Uluru and it is owned by the local aboriginal people. Your in their backyard and taking a photo of their sacred site. A lot of people who have been there before.. lets say pre 2000 say that its a very different place. I will openly discourage people from climbing up the rock and I’ll tell them why its not what the place is about. I am totally focused on communicating the cultural aspects while I am there with my passengers because there is so many amazing things that you’ll just walk past. Telling the stories, putting them in context and linking them to the features (caves, markings) on the rock is a real eye opener for many people.
The “Cultural Clearance” is not a money grab as its totally free its just there to respect the owners and make sure that particular sacred sites are not being broadcast for all the world to see.

This image will pass through the requirements I just haven’t added to my approved images yet.
