Wow this is a gorgeous drawing Steven this is a masterpiece perfect in every way.
You really captured the mood of society in that era where sitting in cafe’s was the fashion.
Steven Torrisi replied
Thank you so much Renate, I’ve been trying to find new more difficult scenes.

Oh Steven this is just amazing!! A perfect illustration of 19th century Parisian cafe society. An absolute masterpiece and and a mark of your emerging gift and talent for drawing. Brilliant draughtsman-ship!
Steven Torrisi
Thanks Rusty for the encouragement. I’ve been trying to expand my horizons, and this was my first multi-person scene. I only wish I could have found a stock photo of a cafe scene that had all the look I was going for. It seems here in the US anyway Starbucks is where people go to do work than relax, or zoom in and out rather than drink in the atmosphere.

stunning

I love this drawing of yours Steve , I keep coming back to it, and it occurs to me that you could do a more contemporary version of this. What about taking a few photos of the cafe you sit in to do your drawings, then you could draw a composition from that. Just throwing few ideas in the air. Bisous from RustyXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Steven Torrisi replied
Hi Rusty, I’ve thought about only Starbucks (where I draw) is not too artist-friendly when it comes to using their for anything without permission as everything from climate to music is controlled and automated from corporate head office. Im going to start drawing at a proper cafe someone at one my drawing stops suggested I goto where artists are appreciated and supported, so we’ll see.
