The 80th anniversary of the Robertson Railway Station was celebrated on the 13th of October, 2012 at the annual Robertson Village Fair.
It was my first Robbo fare and it was wonderful. The spectacle of seeing a double headed steam train arrive at the station was something that brought out the kid in everyone in attendance.
The re-enactment of the trains arrival being greeted by the light horsemen and the parade of school kids was a delight.
And all this amongst the most gorgeous waratah gardens I have ever seen !
Then there was the fabulous community stalls with something for everyone.
Vintage motor bikes, cars, machinery and a miniature steam train for the kids. A band, a lone piper and much much more.
Robertson and it’s little community can be very proud of last saturdays fair and I for one am already looking forward to next years !
